Welcome to the official Government of Canada website for the New Zealand Working Holiday Program to Canada for New Zealand passport holders. This website will provide you with the information you will need to make your application to the High Commission of Canada in Wellington.

The New Zealand Working Holiday Program (NZWHP) is part of an exchange of young workers between New Zealand and Canada. The NZWHP Canada provides a once-in-a lifetime opportunity for young New Zealanders to enjoy an extended holiday in Canada while undertaking temporary casual work to supplement their holiday funds.

A total of 4000 open Work Permits are offered every year to eligible applicants, issued on a first-come, first-served basis. You must also qualify for admission to Canada under the Immigration Act and Regulations and this is discussed further in the section titled 'admissibility'.
