Canadian War Monuments
in the Netherlands

Red poppy flower

Welcome to the web site of Canadian war monuments in the Netherlands, produced by the Canadian Embassy in the Netherlands.

Here you will find monuments and memorials which the Dutch have erected in honour of the Canadian soldiers who helped liberating the Netherlands during WWII and died in combat. Each of the monuments, which are listed per province, is described in detail on a separate page.

Every year, on May 4th and 5th, the Netherlands commemorate the victims of WWII and celebrate it's liberation from five years of nazi occupation. We are grateful to the Dutch National 4 & 5 May Committee for allowing us to use their texts and the Netherlands Instituted for War Documentation (NIOD) for their images.

If you have a question, e-mail us at info@canada.nl.
