Rapid Appraisal / Stakeholder Exchange Workshop
Background
This workshop brings your organization and partners together for a joint analysis of a development issue or to make improvements in a particular sector or program. It helps all the partners acquire a broader understanding of the existing situation, the key actors involved and the issues that need to be addressed. It is also a forum for jointly identifying the most promising actions or measures to help your development initiative move forward rapidly and with a solid foundation.
Goals
- Obtain a participatory and ‘whole system’ appraisal of the issues in a particular problem, theme, sector or program (e.g. whole-of-government, sector-wide etc.)
- Assess the needs, understand the context, enable stakeholders to exchange perspectives and have dialogue on what needs to happen
- Promote learning between/among stakeholders
- Establish trust, relationships and common ground and
- Build a shared commitment for practical action.
Who is this for?
Development partners engaged in a program or sector wide approach, international programs, projects, missions and events involving intercultural and multistakeholder collaboration.
When and where?
Workshops may be held at any time during an international collaboration. Workshops must bring together the partners involved and will be held where the greatest number of key players can meet, either in Canada or abroad.
Cost
Are you working on a program/project sponsored by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)?
Yes
In principle, all CIDA-funded programs and projects are eligible for the in-country services of the Centre's Intercultural Facilitation and Organizational Development Unit through an Administrative Agreement between CIDA and DFAIT. The request may be initiated by a CIDA program/project officer or by one of CIDA's partners or executing agencies.
All workshop development costs and facilitation costs are covered for CIDA-approved workshops. Costs related to bringing together participants and local facilitators are not included.
